Our mission is to serve the community, and continually develop IT abilities in producing world standard IM products bringing acclamation to our nation as well as opening doors to the world in creation of IT collaborations.

Mera Urdu Messenger is a product of eTaleem.com, a company established in year 2000 with the aim to spread education. The company launched its portal www.eTaleem.com on 15th October 2001. Within a short span of time eTaleem became very popular amongst the masses and in year 2001 the portal was declared as number 1 site of Pakistan.

MUM was envisioned by team eTaleem (by the grace of Allah) in January 2001 to fill the vacuum of Urdu Instant messaging on the Internet. In March 2001 the research and development began. In August 2001 basic beta version was launched for test, approximately 400 loyal members of eTaleem participated in the beta test. Finally in February 2002 the vision became a product for communication in Urdu.

MUM was officially launched with great fervor on July 19, 2002, media and the government spoke very high of the project and assured every possible help in making it a success. Indeed success came, and MUM got overnight recognition nationally, and great acclamations started coming from Pakistanis and Urdu speaking community internationally. So much so foreign media specially British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) spoke very high of the product and precisely said 'This is truly a great achievement and adds a new hi-tech chapter to Urdu language".
