I am behind firewall / proxy, where can I specify my connection
settings for SOCKS 4, SOCKS 5 and HTTP Proxy? |
For
all the users behind firewall or proxy (such as using
Cable Net, Cyber Café or a private Network) we
are now providing explicit settings for firewall / proxy.
Click on the Tools menu and then select Options. Select
the “Connection Settings” link and there you
can specify your firewall settings for SOCKS 4 or 5 and
HTTP Proxy enabled proxy servers such as ISA / Wingate
/ WinProxy etc. If you are unsure about your proxy setting,
contact your network administrator or cable operator.

How can I set my Urdu Nick on MSN? |
Click
on the Tools->Options menu and select Personal >
MSN. Select “Yes” for the option “I
want my nick to be displayed in Urdu”. Then type
in your nick in the box; an Urdu preview will show you
how your name will appear in the conversation window. |

3: What is an Auto Responder? |
An
auto responder is a small message that will be sent to
any user who wishes to communicate with you while your
status is either
• Away
• Busy
• On the

4: My Auto Responder is not working on MUM? |
| Our
Auto Responder is currently functioning with MSN only.
Our future update will provide this feature with MUM.

5: How can I disable my Auto Responder? |
You
can disable your Auto Responder anytime by un-checking
the message for “Enable <Status> Auto Responder”,
where <Status> is one of the status available for
Auto Responding that is
• Away
• Busy
• On the
Phone |

6: How can I set my Auto Responder in Urdu? |
Click
on the Tools->Options menu and select the appropriate
Auto Responder. You need to check the option “This
responder is in Urdu” for setting your Auto Responder
in Urdu. |

7: What are the MSN features that are currently not available
in this version? |
Following
features are currently not available.
• Send or
receive Files.
• Voice /
Video chat.
• Send a
message to Mobile device.
• Dial a
phone.
• Import
contacts from a save file |

8: When I signed out my self from MUM, I was automatically
signed out from MSN service? |

Whenever
you sign out from MUM service the MUM Client 1.2 will
automatically sign you out from the MSN service. You
need to keep your self online on the MUM service in
order to utilize the features of MSN.

9: I would like to report a bug, what should I do? |

I am unable to receive Urdu on my MSN. I received “????”

are some characters that I am unable to see such as

are some of versions of Win95 / Win98 / WinNT that are
unable to display Urdu characters properly. MUM team is
in process to provide the solution for this problem with
the final release of version 1.2. You can report this
problem as a bug on our “Report a Bug” page.

11: How can I add my contact on MSN? |
Select
the Add button in the main window of MUM, or you can select
“Add Buddy” from the File menu. This will
take you to the “Add People” dialog box. Type
the email address of the contact in the “User ID”
text field such as
“my-name@hotmail.com”
or “my-name@msn.com”.
Select the option for “Add to MSN” and then
press the Add button. The user will be added in your contact
list. |

Can I search MSN contacts using the search provided in
the Add People dialog box? |

you can not, this service is exclusively only for MUM
users. You can only search MUM user that are currently
online. |
